About Central Pursuit Curch

We’re a local church for every generation in the South West of Western Australia, with a heart for our city and the wider coastal region. Wherever you are in life, our prayer is that you’ll feel at home here.

We believe God’s heart has always been for people. He pursues us because He desires us to know Him, experience His love and walk in relationship with Him.

Our response is simple: Jesus is our central pursuit.

He isn’t merely one part of our lives or one pursuit among many. He is at the centre of everything we are and everything we do.

Vision

To see Jesus first in every life, home, and community.

Mission

Pursuing Jesus, Building People and Impacting Communities.

Our Story

Our story began in 1933 with a simple conviction: God was pursuing people in Bunbury.

A small group of believers gathered in a home, united by faith, prayer and a desire to see people encounter Jesus. From those humble beginnings, generations of pastors, leaders, families and volunteers faithfully built on one foundation: Jesus Christ.

Through decades of change, challenge and growth, the church’s impact continued to expand. Lives were transformed, ministries were established and a heart for the next generation became part of our DNA. In the late 1980s, a bold vision and extraordinary generosity gave birth to Grace Christian School, a lasting legacy that continues to shape lives today.

Through every season, one thing has remained unchanged: God’s faithfulness.

Today, we are Central Pursuit Church, a name that reflects God’s heart and our response. God’s central pursuit has always been people, that all may know Him. In response, Jesus is our central pursuit.

We honour those who have gone before us and look to the future with faith. Our story is still being written, and we believe the best is yet to come.

Our Pastors

Mark and Chantelle Nash are the Senior Pastors of Central Pursuit Church. Since relocating from the United Kingdom to Bunbury in 2021, they have led with faith, strength, and vision to see a generation passionate about the life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Their heart is to build healthy, life-giving churches where people encounter God, grow in faith, discover their God-given purpose and make a difference in their world.

Mark serves on the National Leadership Team of Acts Global Churches Australia, helping provide leadership, support, and strategic direction for churches across the nation.

Alongside ministry, Mark and Chantelle are devoted parents to their three children, Jentson, Skylar and Willow.

What We Believe

God and Salvation
Church and Spiritual Life
Practices and Christian Living

God and Salvation

The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture.

The Virgin Birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant Resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Second Coming, and eternal Kingdom reign.

The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body.

Church and Spiritual Life

The original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world.

Christ's leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the unity, maturity, and growth of the Church.

Practices and Christian Living

The Sacrament of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.

The privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church.

We believe that the covenant of marriage is the union of a man and a woman who have voluntarily entered into a loving, committed, and exclusive relationship for as long as both live.
